"The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting has unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season, with immediate effect," said a statement from the BCCI. The Board confirmed that all players will return to their families after it emerged that SRH's Wriddhiman Saha in Delhi and DC's Amit Mishra in Ahmedabad tested positive on Tuesday.

Wednesday's Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) has reportedly been postponed after two members from the CSK contingent tested positive for Covid-19. The match was set to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium and will be the second game to be postponed due to the pandemic after Monday's match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore was deferred.
