South Africa are likely to field a depleted squad for the two home Tests against Bangladesh starting March 18, with all their red-ball players choosing to play for various franchises in the IPL 2022. The Cricket South Africa (CSA), earlier this month, allowed the players to choose between the IPL and their Test commitments against Bangladesh. And the players in a unanimous decision have prefered the IPL over the two Tests.

Reigning Asian Games champion Rahi Sarnobat won the Women's 25M Pistol T1 trials even as young Parth Makhija registered a unique double winning both the Men's and Junior Men's 10M Air Rifle competitions at Bhopal's MP State Shooting Academy range, as the National Shooting trials one and two completed the first week of competitions. Among the other winners was Olympian Manu Bhaker who triumphed in the Junior Women's 25M Pistol.

Cradle of Indian chess Chennai to host Chess Olympiad
The cradle of Indian chess Chennai will be the venue for the 44th Chess Olympiad to be held during July-August this year. The venue will be the convention centre at the Four Points by Sheraton, located in the Mahabalipuram area, one of the main tourist destinations in southern India. The International Chess Federation or FIDE on Tuesday approved the bid offered by the All India Chess Federation (AICF) to host the mega biennial event that would see about 190 nations competing for the medals.
Hardik Pandya joins NCA camp ahead of IPL 2022
All-rounder Hardik Pandya has joined the Indian camp, which is underway at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, ahead of the beginning of the IPL 2022. Hardik, who hasn't played any cricket since the T20 World Cup last October-November due to fitness issues, will be at the NCA for a few days before he re-joins the Gujarat Titans for the upcoming season of IPL.
