Ons Jabeur, the 2022 US Open Women's Singles finalist, will not participate in this year's edition of the much-acclaimed championship due to an injury she incurred on her shoulder.
Lately, Jabeur had been bitten by a spate of injuries, pulling out of the Washington hard-court event and then losing to Naomi Osaka in her only match in Montreal. She would later take to Instagram to update the fans that her shoulder injury hadn't recovered enough for her to take part in the Flushing Meadows competition.
The Tunisian player also finished as a runner-up at Wimbledon in Flushing Meadows in 2022 and 2023.
