Medanta Hospital said the cricketer was brought to its emergency department with neck pain at 8 pm on September 27 after he was injured in a road accident on Purvachal Expressway. He is being treated under the supervision of Dr Dharmendra Singh, Director of Orthopedics Department. His condition is stable at present and he is out of danger, the statement said on Saturday.
Musheer Khan is the younger brother of India cricketer Sarfaraz Khan. He was traveling with his father, Naushad Khan, who also doubles as his coach, in their SUV when it ran out of control at high speed and overturned multiple times on the Purvanchal Expressway. Naushad received minor injuries in the accident. According to a source from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), the high speed caused the vehicle to flip several times before coming to rest.

Mumbai cricketer Musheer Khan is stable and out of danger following a serious car accident on the Purvanchal Expressway, although he will miss the rest of the cricket season because of neck and limb injuries.
Musheer Khan was with his father Naushad Khan, who coaches him too, in an SUV that lost control at high speed and overturned several times on the Purvanchal Expressway. Naushad has minor injuries. A source in the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said that the vehicle flipped several times before it stopped after the high speed impact.
"Musheer is likely out for the season.". He has suffered neck and limb injuries as the Fortuner he was traveling in rolled couple of times in the high-speed accident that occurred while returning to Lucknow from Azamgarh and has to take a rest for three months after the initial hospitalization. He will undergo rehabilitation thereafter, which means he is likely to be available only after six or seven months. Musheer is now under treatment at the Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, a source from MCA told IANS.
Musheer, who was training with his father in Azamgarh, was to join his team mates in Lucknow for the Irani Cup match against the Rest of India at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium from October 1.
The Boards of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) medical teams are closely monitoring his progress to ensure he receives the best possible care, the MCA said in a statement.
Once Musheer is declared fit to travel, he will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation and additional medical treatment. The timeline for his recovery will be decided post these assessments, it added.
The Duleep Trophy is his first return to the field for India B; his tournament debut came against India A in Bengaluru earlier this month, and he bashed 181 on debut. After that, he was a non-factor in the rest of the tournament.
India's emergence star from the 2024 Under-19 World Cup, Musheer returned strongly to the Ranji Trophy in February. In his first game for Mumbai after nearly two years, he notched up his maiden First-Class double century later excelled in the Ranji final against Vidarbha with a second-innings hundred, helping Mumbai win a record-extending 42nd Ranji title.
The 21-year-old has so far amassed 716 runs in nine First-Class matches at an average over 50, scoring three centuries and one half-century.
MCA has not announced any replacement to date for the batter. MCA awaits Sarfaraz Khan, who is in Kanpur with the Indian team but not in the playing XI for the second Test against Bangladesh, to join the side.
