Reports suggest that the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has outlined a timeframe for the second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL), with expectations that the tournament will run from February 22 to March 17. While specific venues for the five-team league are yet to be confirmed, there are indications that the league might be hosted in multiple locations rather than a single center.
This information reportedly emerged in discussions leading up to Saturday's WPL auction in Mumbai. It is understood that the BCCI has shared this provisional schedule with the five competing teams—Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and UP Warriorz.
In the inaugural edition of the league, all matches were held in Mumbai. However, for the upcoming season, the BCCI seems to be exploring the possibility of utilizing multiple venues for a more decentralized approach to the Women's Premier League.
