Jadeja and Shami Likely to Miss Rest of Test Series Against England

Typically, a hamstring injury takes around four weeks to heal, which could potentially rule Jadeja out of the entire series. The final Test is scheduled to be held in Dharamsala from March 7-11. In the first Test, despite the injury, Jadeja delivered impressive performances with the ball and contributed significantly with the bat.

India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is likely to require more time to recover from his hamstring injury, and along with pacer Mohammed Shami, he might miss the remaining matches of the ongoing five-match Test series against England. Jadeja sustained the injury during India's fourth-innings chase in the series opener in Hyderabad.

Pacer Mohammed Shami, dealing with a left ankle problem, has traveled to England for specialized injections and consultation with a surgeon. Initially not considered for the first two Tests, it's now suggested that Shami might be ruled out of the entire series.

Additionally, India will be without KL Rahul in the second Test due to pain in his right quadriceps, a concern stemming from a surgery he underwent in 2022. Rahul is currently under rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy, and it remains to be seen if he will be available for the third Test in Rajkot starting on February 15.

India is already without the services of star batter Virat Kohli, who withdrew from the first two Tests due to personal reasons. This has led the BCCI to include uncapped Rajat Patidar as a replacement. To strengthen the squad, India has added middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan, left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar, and all-rounder Washington Sundar.
