IPL 2022, Day 38 Highlights: Kolkata Knight Riders beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets

In a fantastic thriller, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 7 wickets. Before that match, KKR were struggling as they lost their 5 matches in a row. RR is in the top 4 of the point table as they have brilliant bowling as well as batting attack. Here are the key highlights of the game:

1. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl first against RR

2. RR lost the early wicket of Devdutt Padikkal (2) and Jos Buttler tried to score but failed this time. He made 22 runs off 25.  
 

3. After the fall of their wickets, Sanju Samson took his time and made 54 runs off 49. 
 

4. RR middle-order Riyan Parag (19) and Karun Nair (13) didn't contribute much. However, Shimron Hetmyer finished the innings with a cameo of an unbeaten 27 runs off 13.

5. RR managed to score 152/5 in their 20 over.

6. Replying to RR total, KKR lost wickets of their openers Aaron Finch (4) and Baba Indrajith (15). After the fall of their wickets, Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana built a fine 60 runs partnership. Shreyas Iyer made 34 runs off 32.
 

7. After the fall of his wicket, Nitish Rana stayed with Rinku Singh. Both of them played fine and attacked shots. They built a match-winning 66-run partnership.

8. Rinku Singh made an unbeaten 42 runs off 23 and Nitish Rana made an unbeaten 48 runs off 37.
 

9. That was the first match in this IPL where the RR spinner failed to take wickets.

10. KKR managed to score 158/3 in 19.1 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.

11. Rinku Singh was declared player of the match.

Brief scores: Rajasthan Royals 152/5 in 20 overs (Jos Buttler 22, Sanju Samson 54, Shimron Hetmyer 27 not out; Tim Southee 2/46) lost to Kolkata Knight Riders 158/3 in 19.1 overs (Shreyas Iyer 34, Nitish Rana 48 not out, Rinku Singh 42 not out; Kuldeep Sen 1/28, Trent Boult 1/25) by seven wickets.
