IPL 2022, Day 30 Highlights: Lucknow Super Giants beat Mumbai Indians by 36 runs

In a fantastic thriller, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday defeated Mumbai Indians by 36 runs. We never saw 5 times champion Mumbai Indians struggle like that. They lost 8 out of 8 matches. For LGS, KL Rahul made his second hundred of the season and it was against the same team. Here are the key highlights of the game:

1. MI won the toss and elected to bowl first against LSG

2. LSG lost wickets at the regular interval. We witnessed only KL Rahul's show as he scored more than half of the runs for LSG.
 

3. Other batmen, Quinton de Kock (10), Manish Pandey (22), Marcus Stoinis (0), Krunal Pandya (0), Deepak Hooda (10), and Ayush Badoni (14) didn't contribute much.

4. However, Skipper KL Rahul stayed till the end and made an unbeaten 103 runs off 62. It was the second 100 of this season for KL Rahul and against the same team.
 

5. LSG managed to score 168/6 in their 20 overs.

6. Replying to LSG total, MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan struggled initially. However, Skipper Rohit Sharma played amazing shots and made 39 runs off 31 but Ishan Kishan made a disappointed 8 runs off 20.
 

7. MI lost wickets in the middle overs including  Suryakumar Yadav and Deward Bravis.

8. After the fall of their wicket, Tilak Varma and Kieron Pollard built an incredible partnership. Tilak Varma made 38 runs off 27. After the fall of his wicket, MI needed 45 runs off 13 deliveries.
 

9. LSG bowler, Dushmantha Chameera continued his cheap spell and gave only 14 runs in his 4 over. MI batter, Kieron Pollard struggled and made  19 (20).

10. MI made 132/8 in their 20 overs and lost the match by 36 runs.

11. KL Rahul was declared player of the match.

13. Brief scores: Lucknow Super Giants 168/6 in 20 overs (K.L Rahul 103 not out, Manish Pandey 22; Kieron Pollard 2/8, Riley Meredith 2/40) defeated Mumbai Indians 132/8 in 20 overs (Rohit Sharma 39, Tilak Varma 38; Krunal Pandya 3/19) by 36 runs.
