IPL 2022, Day 12 Highlights: Kolkata Knight Riders beat Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets 

In an exhilarating thriller, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday thrashed Mumbai Indians (MI) by 5 wickets. KKR versus MI is one of the most entertaining rivalries in IPL history. In that match, batsmen were finding it difficult to score runs on the dry pitch of Pune. However, both of the teams showed their ability and fighting spirit by never quitting till the end. Here are the key highlights of the game:

1. KKR won the toss and elected to bowl first against MI.

2. MI lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma and debutant Dewald Bravis came up the order ahead of  experienced player Suryakumar Yadav and in form batsmen Tilak Varma. Young Bravis decreased the pressure on Ishan Kishan by making an attacking 29 runs off 19 deliveries.

3. After the fall of Bravis's and Kishan's wickets, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma  built an amazing partnership. In the slog overs, Pollard finished the inning with a cameo of 22 runs off 5 deliveries.
 

4. MI ended up with a fighting total of 161/4.

5. Replying to MI total, KKR started slow and struggled against Jasprit Bumrah and Adam Mills. They kept losing wickets at  regular intervals 
 

6. But Venkatesh Iyer stayed till the end and kept them in the game.

7. Pat Cummins played an unbeatable knock of 56 runs off 15 deliveries. He equalled KL Rahul's all-time IPL record for the fastest 50 at just 14 deliveries.
 

8. Now that the Australian players are back in IPL, the rest of the matches will become more interesting and entertaining.

9. KKR made 162/5 and chased the total in 16 overs. MI, the most successful team in IPL is still waiting for its first victory.

10. Pat Cummins was declared the player of the match.
