India's South Africa Tour Update: Deepak Chahar Withdrawn, Shami Ruled Out

Deepak Chahar's withdrawal from the upcoming ODI series against South Africa due to a family medical emergency led to Akash Deep's appointment as his replacement, as confirmed by the Men’s Selection Committee, stated the BCCI.

Following the initial ODI in Johannesburg on December 17, Shreyas Iyer will join the Test squad but won't be available for subsequent ODIs, focusing on an inter-squad game instead.

The Test squad, led by Rahul Dravid and including coaches Vikram Rathour, Paras Mhambrey, and T Dilip, will oversee preparations for the inter-squad game and the Test series.

Support for the ODI team will come from India A’s Coaching Staff, featuring Sitanshu Kotak, Rajib Datta, and Ajay Ratra.

The updated ODI squad includes Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sai Sudharsan, Tilak Varma, Rajat Patidar, Rinku Singh, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (C)(wk), Sanju Samson (wk), Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, and Akash Deep.
