Tokyo Olympic silver medallist Ravi Kumar Dahiya, who missed the entire 2023 season due to injuries, marked a successful comeback by securing a bronze medal at the Henri Deglane Grand Prix wrestling tournament in Nice, France.
Competing in the men's 61kg freestyle category, Dahiya won the bronze medal bout with a score of 10-4 against Kairat Amirtayev of Kazakhstan.
Dahiya's journey to the bronze medal included a victory over Julien Zinser of Germany in the round of 16 with a technical superiority score of 13-2 and a 12-6 win against Zangar Kabylbekov of Kazakhstan in the quarterfinal.
Despite facing a defeat in the semifinal against Arman Eloyan of France with a score of 6-3, Dahiya bounced back to secure the bronze medal.
This competition marked Ravi Kumar Dahiya's return to the international wrestling stage after missing several tournaments in 2023 due to injuries, particularly to his right knee's Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL). His comeback performance at the Henri Deglane Grand Prix is a positive development for the Indian wrestler.
