In the second Test against England, India's captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat on Friday. The Indian team made some changes, including the Test debut of Rajat Patidar. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav and pacer Mukesh Kumar also joined the playing XI, while KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Mohammed Siraj were left out.
On the other side, England introduced Shoaib Bashir, who received his maiden Test cap, in place of the injured Jack Leach. The experienced pacer James Anderson replaced Mark Wood in the playing eleven.
