In the podcast, Gambhir revealed that despite their long association, he and SRK seldom delved into cricket discussions, except for a solitary instance. Gambhir didn't hold back his admiration for the Bollywood megastar, hailing him as the epitome of excellence among IPL team owners.

Expressing his reverence, Gambhir stated, "I've always maintained that Shah Rukh Khan is the finest owner I've had the privilege to work with. Throughout my seven-year stint as captain, cricket barely featured in our conversations, except during a challenging phase when I contemplated dropping myself."

Recalling a pivotal moment, Gambhir shared, "I approached him, and his response was unequivocal: 'As long as you're here, you won't bench yourself. You'll play every game.' That was our cricket-related exchange over seven years. He instilled confidence in my decision-making."

Reflecting on SRK's trust in him, Gambhir emphasized, "Picture this: an owner of his stature, with countless achievements to his name, barely discussing cricket matters. He entrusted me with autonomy, acknowledging that while I may not always make the best calls, he never doubted my judgment."
