The 22-year-old Swiatek set the tone from the outset, breaking Jeanjean in the opening game with precise returns that kept her opponent pinned to the back of the court. She sealed the game with a powerful forehand return winner that clipped the left tramline.

Facing a break point at 3-1, Swiatek responded with a cross-court winner to reaffirm her control. She comfortably took the first set 6-1.

In the second set, Jeanjean briefly took the lead with an early break. However, Swiatek regained momentum in time to secure the set. Though she won rather comfortably, including 26 winners, Swiatek was less pleased with the 18 unforced errors she committed.

Swiatek came into Roland Garros riding a 12-match winning streak, secured thanks to WTA 1000 titles in Madrid and Rome.
