On the third day of the first Test between India and England, England displayed a semblance of fight, reaching 89 for one at lunch.

Despite the challenging task, openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley (31) approached their duty with determination, utilizing the sweep and reverse sweep to counter Indian spinners.

Zak Crawley fell to an Ashwin delivery, caught by Rohit Sharma at first slip. Ashwin created an angle across Crawley, whose defensive prod ended up in a simple catch.

Earlier in the morning, India's first innings ended quickly as they were bowled out for 436. Ravindra Jadeja, who fell leg before to Joe Root, couldn't reach a century.

The Indian innings concluded with quick dismissals of Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel, with the last three wickets falling without adding any runs.
