In an exclusive interview with Star Sports on Cricket Live, Broad discussed Bumrah's impactful display against Gujarat Titans. He remarked, "That’s typical of him, it's his signature style. He dominates with his pace and trajectory. It's intriguing to see him with the new ball; I believe he's tasked with taking the crucial first wicket to set the tone. Regardless of his approach, his skill and talent ensure success. It's now up to Hardik and the management to utilize him effectively."

Australian cricketer Steve Smith also lauded Bumrah's performance against Titans, acknowledging his prowess and influence on the game. "He's an exceptional bowler. His track record speaks volumes about his prowess over the years. It's fantastic to witness his return after missing the previous year. He made an immediate impact in the opening game, bowling exceptionally well to claim figures of 3 for 14 on what seemed like a challenging wicket. In this venue, where conditions aren't always favorable, he managed to make an impact," Smith added.

Broad further analyzed MI's loss in their season opener. "The games are becoming increasingly thrilling in the final overs. I admit, when Hardik Pandya smashed that first ball of the last over for a six, I thought they were destined for victory, painting a fairy tale narrative. However, as Ravi mentioned, MI's loss in the opener hasn't dented their prospects much. There are numerous positives to take from this game, although it's disappointing to let slip their advantage, given how precious wins are, especially in the IPL's current stage."

Mumbai Indians will face Sunrisers Hyderabad next on March 27 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
