Team India captain Virat Kohli on Wednesday stated that he is the ‘representation of new India’ and also responded to Greg Chappell’s remark that he is the ‘most Australian non-Australian cricketer’.
These comments from the Indian skipper came while he was addressing a virtual press conference on the eve of the first match in the 4-match series.
Kohli was asked about his aggressive style of cricket crossed with fighting attitude. He responded, "The way my personality and character is, I am the representation of new India. For me, that's how I look at it.”

He was then asked to comment about Greg Chappell’s comment when the former Aussie captain and Indian team coach said that Kohli’s mindset is the same as the Australian players.
"In my mind, it's not (about) being compared to the Australian mindset as such. It's how we have started to stand up as the Indian cricket team and my personality has been like this from day one" Kohli said.
India will play its first test match against Australia on 17th December. The day and night match will be played with a pink ball. Virat Kohli will play the first match but will miss the latter ones after he opted for the paternity leave.
