Before the T20 world cup 2022, Asia Cup 2022 is the last big stop for the teams from Asia. The Asia Cup is the only continental tournament and the winning team becomes the champion of Asia. It alternates every 2 years between ODI and T20I formats. This time it will be played in the T20I format. The Asia Cup tournament will be hosted by Sri Lanka in UAE due to political unrest in the country. The tournament will begin on August 27 and the final will be played on September 11. Six teams will be participating in Asia Cup 2022. India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are the 5 confirmed teams and one team from Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore, and UAE will capture the sixth spot in the qualifier round will take place ahead of the tournament and the winner will grab the spot of the 6th team will start from August 20 to 24.
