The Union Home Minister asserted on Tuesday that the NDA has already clinched the necessary number of seats to secure a majority in Parliament, paving the way for another term in government at the Centre.
"We've already locked in 270 seats, ensuring Narendra Modi's third tenure as Prime Minister. By the fifth phase, our goal of reaching 400 seats will be realized," declared the Union Home Minister during an election rally at Uluberia Lok Sabha constituency in Howrah district, rallying support for party candidate Arun Uday Pal Chaudhury.
Amit Shah also lambasted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for allegedly deceiving the public regarding centrally-sponsored schemes.
"The funding for these schemes originates from the Central government, yet the Mamata Banerjee-led state government is rebranding and presenting them as state initiatives," accused the Union Home Minister.
He further criticized the Chief Minister for spreading rumors that the BJP, if elected, would terminate the 'Lakshmir Bhandar' women's scheme. "I want to reassure you that Lakshmir Bhandar will persist, with increased financial support," affirmed the Union Home Minister.
Promising swift action, Shah vowed that those responsible for the sexual harassment incident in Sandeshkhali would face consequences. "All perpetrators will be apprehended and incarcerated," declared Amit Shah.
He also highlighted the growing disillusionment among the people of West Bengal with the Trinamool Congress' appeasement politics.
"These Rohingya and Bangladeshi infiltrators are core constituents of the Chief Minister's voting bloc. However, this cannot persist indefinitely, and the time has come for change," asserted Shah.
