AAP's representation in the Rajya Sabha, Swati Maliwal, has come forth with a strong rebuttal against allegations made by Delhi government ministers, asserting that they have been spreading falsehoods about her. She has even gone to the extent of threatening legal action against them.
Taking to her social media platform, Maliwal refuted claims made by AAP leaders that her filing of an assault complaint against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s aide, Bibhav Kumar, was orchestrated by the BJP due to a corruption case lodged against her.
“Since yesterday, Delhi ministers have been spreading lies that just because a corruption FIR has been lodged against me I am doing this at the behest of BJP “The FIR was registered in 2016 and after that I was appointed the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women twice by both the chief minister and the Lt Governor.
Maliwal vehemently declared the case against her as fabricated, emphasizing that the Hon’ble High Court has imposed a stay for the past one-and-a-half years and has acknowledged that there was no exchange of money involved.
“The case is completely fake and the Hon’ble High Court has imposed a stay for the last one-and-a-half years and has also accepted that there was no exchange of money,” she stated in her Hindi post
“Before I gave the complaint against Bibhav Kumar, I was lady Singham and today I have become a BJP agent,” she lamented, accusing Aam Aadmi Party leaders of orchestrating a campaign against her to tarnish her reputation simply because she dared to "speak the truth".
She further disclosed, “All the members of the party are receiving calls saying if there is any personal video of Swati, send it. It has to be leaked. They are putting my relatives’ lives in danger by tweeting their details after procuring them using their vehicle registration numbers."
Maliwal cautioned against the repercussions of spreading falsehoods, warning, “Well, lies don’t last long. But in the intoxication of power and the obsession to bring someone down, it should not happen that when the truth comes out, you are not even able to look your family in the eye."
In a stern tone, she concluded, “I will take you to court for every lie you spread!"
The incident leading to Maliwal's firm stance occurred when Kumar was arrested following Maliwal's accusation of assault against him on May 13 at CM Kejriwal’s official residence.
AAP leader Atishi joined the discourse by asserting that Maliwal is facing charges in an illegal recruitment case and insinuated that she was “blackmailed” by the BJP into becoming part of a "conspiracy" against the chief minister.
