PM Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his birthday, saying the great monk is an inspiration for youths forever.
PM Modi, in a message posted on X, wrote, "Paying tribute to the great monk, Swami Vivekananda on his Jayanti. An eternal source of inspiration for the youth, he continues to ignite passion and purpose in the young minds. We remain committed to fulfilling his vision of a strong and developed India.
The PM further posted a video clip to celebrate Swami Vivekanand's thoughts. While addressing the children, he said it is a day of India's youth power who are dedicating themselves to the great man who added new energy during the British Raj. "Swami Vivekanand would also say India's aspirations depended on the youth's character, their commitment, and intellectualism. Swami Vivekanand's guidance makes for a fantastic inspiration for the youth of India.".
"Swami Vivekanand's two messages are to be a part of every Indian youth — institution and innovation. The institution is made when we expand our ideas and work with team spirit. Every youth should expand his individual success into team success. This team spirit will carry forward India towards the goal of Viksit Bharat," PM Modi narrated in the video clip.
Swami Vivekananda is one of the most influential spiritual leaders and thinkers of this country. The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is, therefore, celebrated as National Youth Day on January 12th and is dedicated to inspiring and encouraging the younger generation to strive towards their personal growth as well as societal progress.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2025 on Sunday to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda at Bharat Mandapam here. He will interact with 3,000 vibrant young leaders from across India and address the meeting as well.
Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue: Breaking 25 years old tradition of holding National Youth Festival in a conventional manner with the vision of Prime Minister's Independence Day call to engage one lakh youth in politics without political affiliations and give them a national platform to make their ideas for Viksit Bharat, a reality.
The government press release says, "In line with this, on this National Youth Day, the Prime Minister will participate in a number of activities designed to inspire, motivate, and empower the nation's future leaders. Innovative young leaders will make ten PowerPoint presentations representing the ten thematic areas pivotal to India's development before the Prime Minister. Such presentations represent ideas and solutions through innovative means advanced by young leaders to tackle many of India's most significant issues.".
The Prime Minister will also publish a selection of the best essays written by participants on the ten themes. The themes include varied topics such as technology, sustainability, women empowerment, manufacturing, and agriculture.
The Prime Minister will lunch with the young leaders in a special arrangement, which will give them the chance to present their ideas, experiences, and aspirations directly to him. This personal interaction will bridge the gap between governance and youth aspirations, which will lead to a more responsible and owned understanding among the participants.
In this dialogue, young leaders will be engaging in competitions, activities, cultural, and thematic presentations. It will also include deliberations on themes led by mentors and domain experts. It will also witness cultural performances that show the artistic heritage of India but at the same time symbolize modern advancements.
