Uttar Pradesh Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana has extended an invitation to all legislators to visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya on February 11. This invitation follows an earlier agreement during an all-party meeting, where opposition leaders, including those from the Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal, had expressed their willingness to visit the temple.
Initially scheduled for February 1, the cabinet's plan to visit the temple was postponed due to a surge in the number of devotees. Speaker Mahana stated that opposition leaders, including senior SP leader Shivpal Yadav, had confirmed their intention to visit the temple if invited.
According to the Speaker's announcement, all MLAs, including himself, will travel to Ayodhya by bus at 8 a.m. on February 11. Upon arrival around 11.30 a.m., they will first visit the Hanuman Garhi temple, followed by a visit to the Ram temple, where they are expected to remain until approximately 2 p.m. The return journey is scheduled to commence by 3 p.m.
Mahana clarified that the invitation is open to all MLAs from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and himself, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the initiative.
