"I extended my support to Anil akin to a son, but witnessing the tone of his discourse, I find little to comment on. Within the Congress, we do not condone such behavior. I hope he adopts a more respectful and affectionate demeanor towards Antony. His choice of words is his own, and he should be questioned about it," remarked Shashi Tharoor.

"After facing defeat in Pathanamthitta, Anil will likely gain some insight," Tharoor remarked during an interview with a television channel in the region on Friday.

The seasoned Congress leader is vying for his fourth consecutive victory. He noted that the current scenario resembles that of the 2019 elections and previous instances. Tharoor emphasized that once again, the contest primarily revolves around the Congress and the BJP.

"This will mark my final stint in the Lok Sabha, but it does not signify my departure from politics. I will remain active within the sphere. I am particularly determined to secure a seat in the Lok Sabha this time, as I anticipate crucial deliberations to unfold," Tharoor added.
