Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar has declined an invitation to attend the Shri Ram Temple 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony scheduled for January 22 in Ayodhya. In a brief letter to Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra General Secretary Champat Rai, the 83-year-old Pawar expressed his reverence for Lord Ram, acknowledging the global devotion to the deity.
Pawar conveyed his decision not to attend the ceremony on January 22 but assured Rai of his intention to visit Ayodhya at a later date, allowing more time for a relaxed 'darshan' of Ram Lalla. He acknowledged the enthusiasm among Ram Bhakts participating in the Ayodhya ceremonies and expressed his intent to derive joy from the historic occasion through them.
The NCP supremo emphasized that post the January 22 event, he plans to visit Ayodhya for certain engagements, during which he will allocate sufficient time for a darshan of Shri Ram Lalla with full faith. Pawar also anticipated the completion of the Ram Temple construction by that time.
In concluding his letter, Pawar expressed gratitude for the invitation and extended best wishes for the grand ceremonies scheduled in Ayodhya on January 22. His decision reflects a strategic choice to participate in the celebrations at a later date, ensuring a more contemplative and relaxed experience at the revered site.
