Samajwadi Party Adjusts Meerut Candidate for Lok Sabha Elections

In a freshly released roster on Monday evening, the party led by Akhilesh Yadav revealed Atul Pradhan as their candidate for the Meerut seat, while Suresh Chand Kadam was declared as the nominee for the Agra (Reserved) parliamentary constituency.

On Monday, the Samajwadi Party underwent a shift in its candidate selection for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, particularly in the Meerut and Agra (Reserved) constituencies of Uttar Pradesh.

Previously, the Samajwadi Party had put forward Bhanu Pratap Singh as its contender from Meerut, opposing the BJP's candidate and renowned actor Arun Govil, celebrated for his portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s epic series “Ramayan”. Notably, Pradhan currently holds the position of MLA from Sardhana.

The election schedule earmarks polling in Meerut during the second phase on April 26, while Agra will see voting in the third phase on May 7, both phases being part of the seven-phase general elections.
