Rahul Gandhi to Kick Off 'White T-Shirt Movement' in Bihar, Urges Youth to Join In

In a video message posted on social media, Gandhi urged the youth to participate in the campaign in large numbers, calling it a strong indication that the people of Bihar are willing to take charge of their own destiny and will no longer be deceived.

Congress MP and Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi has made an impassioned appeal to Bihar youth to take an active part in the 'White T-Shirt Movement' from Monday. His call comes ahead of his visit to Begusarai district on April 7.

In a video message posted on social media, Gandhi urged the youth to participate in the campaign in large numbers, calling it a strong indication that the people of Bihar are willing to take charge of their own destiny and will no longer be deceived.

The Stop Migration, Give Jobs Yatra will highlight your pain, your struggles, and the aspirations of Bihar's youth. Display your strength," he mentioned in his speech, emphasizing the movement's purpose to highlight key issues such as unemployment, inflation, privatization, and the leakage of exam papers.".

This message is for all Biharis," Gandhi added. "On April 7, I will be in Begusarai, walking together with you and fighting for you. Together, we will voice our protest against the injustices your families endure."

The 'Palayan Yatra' (Migration March), which is part of the wider movement, is intended to galvanize youths and evoke a vision of a new Bihar—one full of potential and development.

In his message, Gandhi also called upon the youth to spread the word and share the video and announced that Bihar's youth will no longer succumb to pressure but will come together to forge a new way ahead.

His visit follows closely on the heels of the Congress party's announcement of an overhaul of its state leadership, with new presidents and working presidents in all 40 organizational districts of Bihar—a sign of the party's strategic preparations for the coming Assembly elections later this year.

During his visit, Gandhi will likely hold meetings with these newly appointed district leaders to review campaign strategies and map out the road ahead.

Meanwhile, the BJP reacted sharply to Gandhi’s campaign, dismissing it as another failed attempt to revive the Congress party.

“Rahul Gandhi has only managed to sink the Congress wherever he has gone—be it Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, or Delhi,” BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal said, taking a jibe. “Now he will do the same in Bihar. He’s a 55-year-old youth still wasting time sinking the Congress ship.”
