In Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi faces formidable opponents, including CPI candidate Annie Raja, spouse of CPI General Secretary D. Raja, and K.Surendran, the BJP's state president, who has been vocal in his criticisms of Gandhi's tenure in the region.

Expressing his sentiments, Surendran remarked, "It's notable that Gandhi is finally making an appearance in Wayanad to file his nomination." He further lambasted the Congress leader for his perceived lack of engagement with the constituency over the past five years.

Even Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan couldn't resist taking a swipe at Gandhi's decision to contest against Annie Raja of CPI, a party aligned with the INDIA bloc.

Rahul Gandhi's previous electoral triumph in 2019 saw him secure a resounding victory, boasting the highest margin of 4.31 lakh votes in the state. This upcoming contest in Wayanad promises to be equally riveting.
