Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who gained prominence by defeating Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son Vaibhav in the 2019 Lok Sabha election, is expected to be a strong contender. Having been given the crucial Jal Shakti Ministry, he is seen as a key figure with significant accomplishments.

Diya Kumari, the Rajsamand MP from the erstwhile Jaipur royal family, is another leading candidate. Described as a clean and charismatic face, she is reportedly the preferred choice of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

Vasundhara Raje, a two-time Chief Minister and Jhalrapatan MLA, is also in the running. Raje played a crucial role in ticket distribution for around 45 BJP candidates and managed support from a few independents, increasing her chances of leading.

There is speculation that Raje might be appointed as the CM with two deputies under her, but opinions vary on the likelihood of this scenario, given the BJP's clear majority.

Baba Balaknath, the Alwar MP and Tijara candidate, represents a strong Hindutva face and is considered a frontrunner. Known as the 'Yogi of Rajasthan,' he left home at a young age, becoming a revered ascetic and a prominent BJP leader.

Other names circulating for the top job include veteran leaders Om Mathur and Narayan Pancharia. The BJP is known for surprising choices for leadership positions, and only time will reveal who will be selected to head Rajasthan.
