Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has declared gross assets exceeding ₹105 crore and liabilities amounting to ₹5.78 crore in the affidavit submitted along with his nomination papers for the Bankipur Assembly by-election on Monday.
According to the affidavit, Kishor's wife, Jahanvi Das, has disclosed assets worth nearly ₹112 crore and liabilities of ₹55.38 lakh.
The election filing states that Kishor possesses movable assets valued at ₹22.20 crore. His wife's movable assets have been declared at ₹99.52 crore, while their son, Daibik Bharadwaj, owns movable assets worth ₹7.19 lakh.
In the affidavit, Kishor listed his sources of income as business and profession, interest earned on bank deposits, and dividends. His wife has declared income from consultancy work, rental earnings, interest on bank deposits and dividends.
Kishor identified his profession as that of a political advisor and consultant. His wife's occupation has been declared as MBBS and senior advisor special projects at Apollo Indraprastha Hospital, New Delhi.
The affidavit also discloses that eight criminal cases are currently pending against Kishor. The cases include allegations related to unlawful assembly, rioting and obstructing a public servant in the discharge of official duties, among other charges.
