Speaking to the media in Dharwad on Tuesday, he added, "The Waqf Act itself is a mistake; The Waqf Law, unseen anywhere else in the world, needs amendment."
Joshi said that Waqf in India is operating without any limitation, which has no parallel in the whole world. "Hindus and farmers must be vigilant," he warned.
What he said: He thought that such appeasement politics from the Congress have granted Waqf with so much unchecked powers that Waqf will even ask for 'our homes and lands' some day.
"This kind of appeasement cannot be tolerated. The introduction of the Waqf Act in India itself was a mistake. Removing it altogether would be the right step," said Pralhad Joshi.
He also questioned why the Congress came up with the Waqf Act in late PM Jawahar Lal Nehru's time, which further extended its authority in 2013.
"This is the first thing which went wrong. Are you making a Waqf have the kind of authority from where even the Supreme Court will not question?" The proposal to scrap the Waqf Act will then bring things right, according to him.
With these emerging developments, at least, the Waqf Act must be amended, Joshi demanded while asserting that it was imperative to rein those using Waqf for seizing properties in the name of Allah.
He indicted Minister Zameer Ahmed and Congress for hatching up a conspiracy to grab away land belonging to farmers and poor Muslims' properties which come under temples, monasteries.
He demanded the immediate suspension of Tehsildars and other officials who were doctoring the land records to get the farmers' lands registered as Waqf properties.
He said that the Deputy Commissioner should correct the records which reflect that the properties are Waqf, without asking for the resubmission of documents by the farmers. "Did they seek proof when it was registered under Waqf?," Joshi demanded that the notices be withdrawn and corrected forthwith, failing which he threatened to raise a fiery protest.
"Hindus are being ignored under Congress governance," Joshi noted.
"I appeal to the people not to get lured by Congress's free schemes and not to vote for them. Supporting Congress might mean losing homes, temples, and lands at the end. This is my heartfelt appeal," Minister Pralhad Joshi said.
