Power Dynamics Unveiled: Sajad Lone's Critique of National Conference in Kashmir

Lone pointedly accused the ruling class, dubbed as the 'victors,' of perpetrating a reign of oppression. Over the years, they wielded power ruthlessly, issuing directives for killings, unleashing pellet guns, orchestrating arrests and encounters, manipulating elections, and subjecting dissenters to draconian measures like Public Safety Acts (PSAs). He highlighted the callousness with which they even targeted the families of their adversaries, incarcerating mothers and sisters of dissidents without remorse.

Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (PC) leader, Sajad Lone, took a firm stand against the National Conference (NC), condemning their actions in the region over the past three decades. Expressing his views, Lone delineated a stark contrast between the 'Victor' and the 'Victim' in Kashmir's tumultuous history.

Further lambasting their opportunistic alliances with political entities like the BJP and Congress, Lone asserted that such collaborations only exacerbated the plight of Kashmiris. He criticized their callous disregard for the suffering of ordinary Kashmiris, whom he referred to as the 'victims' of the 'victors.' The scars of their brutality are etched in the graveyards that now dot every village, where innocent lives lost to violence and oppression lie buried.

Challenging the narrative propagated by the NC, Lone questioned whether they truly represented the 'victim' or the 'victor.' Meanwhile, PC General Secretary Imran Reza Ansari directed scathing remarks at former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, urging him to shed his feudal mindset. Ansari rebuked Abdullah's presumptuous claims regarding divine judgment and religious righteousness, reminding him that such matters are solely within the domain of the Almighty.

Refuting Abdullah's assertions and dispelling myths surrounding his family's legacy, Ansari emphasized the need for humility and accountability in politics. He cautioned Abdullah against exploiting religious sentiments for political gain, emphasizing that true faith transcends such petty manipulations.

As the PC gears up for the upcoming elections, with Sajad Lone as their candidate for the Baramulla constituency, the stage is set for a political showdown where issues of justice, accountability, and genuine representation hang in the balance.
