Taking to his official social media handle, PM Modi expressed, "On this Women's Day, our Government has decided to lower the prices of LPG cylinders by Rs. 100. This move aims to alleviate financial burdens for countless households across the nation, particularly benefiting the Nari Shakti."
The initiative, aimed at making cooking gas more affordable, reflects the government's dedication to enhancing family well-being and fostering a healthier environment. This action aligns with the administration's commitment to empowering women and ensuring their 'Ease of Living.'
This decision underscores a series of measures undertaken by PM Narendra Modi since assuming office in 2014. His unwavering dedication to women-centric development has been evident in both his leadership and policy strategies.
During his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat, PM Modi established a dedicated high-powered committee for women's welfare, which introduced the 'Nari Gaurav Niti' on January 23, 2002 — a mere three months into his term.
The policy focused on raising awareness among all government departments about women's socio-economic, educational, and developmental requirements, actively involving them in its implementation, a strategy that persists to this day.
Subsequently, in 2006, the Gujarat state government formally implemented the 'Nari Gaurav Niti' policy to advance gender equality and sensitize government bodies to the significance of women's welfare.
