PM Modi Unveils New Projects, Commends TN's Cultural Leadership, and Emphasizes Nationalism

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a series of projects and laid the foundation for new initiatives in Tamil Nadu, totaling Rs 20,140 crore. In Trichy, he praised the state for its cultural inspiration and acknowledged leaders like late Vijayakanth, promoting nationalism. Addressing recent rains and floods in Chennai and southern Tamil Nadu, Modi assured all possible support, while Chief Minister M K Stalin urged him to declare it a 'severe natural disaster' and release funds. Inaugurating the new terminal at Tiruchirappalli International Airport, Modi emphasized the cultural inspiration drawn from Tamil Nadu in the country's development. He referred to the 'revered Sengol,' installed in the new Parliament building, as an inspiration from Tamil culture.

Modi expressed the central government's commitment to Tamil Nadu during crises and praised late Vijayakanth's leadership in politics. He also paid tribute to farm scientist M S Swaminathan. The PM highlighted India's unprecedented investment in physical and social infrastructure, positioning Tamil Nadu as a significant ambassador for 'Make In India.' Stressing connectivity as vital for development, Modi mentioned the Central government's approach where the state's progress reflects national development.

The projects include electrification of the Tiruchchirappali-Manamadurai-Virudunagar railway line and new road projects connecting faith and tourism centers. Modi emphasized the substantial increase in funds allocated to states in the last decade, with Tamil Nadu receiving 2.5 times more than the previous 10 years. The PM concluded by recognizing the importance of universities in India's rise, referring to ancient centers of learning and highlighting the record growth in economic and global rankings.
