PM Modi Maintains 70% Approval Rating in Recent Ipsos IndiaBus Survey

The survey counters the suggestion that PM Modi's appeal has waned under his Modi 3.0 coalition government. Indeed, his popularity remained very strong across several regions, more especially in the North Zone and Tier 1 cities.

In the August 2024 Ipsos IndiaBus PM Approval Rating Survey, Prime Minister Modi was able to receive an approval rating of 70 percent—high, just as it had been assessed in May. This means that a great percentage of respondents still appreciates his performance as a PM.

The survey counters the suggestion that PM Modi's appeal has waned under his Modi 3.0 coalition government. Indeed, his popularity remained very strong across several regions, more especially in the North Zone and Tier 1 cities.

The survey gave very high ratings to the Modi 3.0 government on sectors like education, sanitation and healthcare even though it is just two months into its current stint in office. According to the survey, PM Modi's ratings were lower in the South Zone.

The approval rating of PM Modi was similarly recorded at 70 percent in May by the agency with most respondents praising his performance.

The agency said, "His enduring popularity was confirmed by the Ipsos Approval Rating survey in May 2024, where Modi received an approval rating of 70 percent. Most of the respondents felt that Modi was doing a good job as PM."

The August wave of the latest Ipsos survey confirms that PM Modi's approval rating has remained constant at a high level already recorded earlier this year, underlining that he still enjoys high support.
