Share Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted photographs from his visit to the Maha Kumbh on Wednesday, saying the devotion and spirituality at the event had deeply moved him.
The Prime Minister had paid a visit to the massive religious congregation where thousands of people bathe in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythological Saraswati rivers before performing other rituals.
Taking to X, PM Modi posted, "Blessed to be at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The Snan at the Sangam is a moment of divine connection, and like the crores of others who have taken part in it, I was also filled with a spirit of devotion." "May Maa Ganga bless all with peace, wisdom, good health, and harmony," he added.
In another social media post, he wrote, "The confluence of faith, devotion, and spirituality in the divine and grand Maha Kumbh of Prayagraj is overwhelming everyone."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Prayagraj and was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The two leaders arrived at the Arail VIP Ghat, from where they proceeded to the Sangam on a boat. The two leaders waved to the waiting crowd before boarding the boat to the Sangam, acknowledging the enthusiasm of the devotees who had come to witness the occasion.
The boat ride began at 10:50 a.m. and was the most significant part of the Prime Minister's short visit, spiritually speaking. He took a holy dip at the Sangam during the auspicious time of Ashtami Tithi of the Magh month.
After the ritual bath, he performed prayers on the banks of the Triveni Sangam while offering prayers to River Ganga, which in turn reemphasized the cultural and religious importance of Kumbh Mela, drawing millions of devotees from across the country.
He took back the Arail Ghat boat at about 11:50 a.m. and then moved to Prayagraj Airport at 12:30 p.m. There has been much enthusiasm for the visit by the devotees as they feel Sanatan Dharam has found recognition again under PM Modi.
Many said his respect for Hindu traditions and attending the Maha Kumbh is a matter of pride, not only for the people of Prayagraj but also for the whole Sanatan Dharam community.
