Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to France on Monday, during which he will co-chair the AI Action Summit with President Emmanuel Macron. Following his arrival, he will attend a dinner hosted by the French leader at the Elysee Palace, which will also see the participation of several tech CEOs.
Besides co-chairing the AI Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday, the Prime Minister and Macron are also scheduled to address the India-France CEO's Forum and visit the Mazargues War Cemetery in Marseille to pay tribute to the fallen Indian soldiers during the First World War.
According to Sanjeev Singla, India's Ambassador to France, PM Modi will inaugurate the Consulate General of India in Marseille, the first ever in the city, and visit the site of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), a high-science project that India is part of along with other countries.
In a statement ahead of his departure, the Prime Minister said that he looked forward to "co-chairing the AI Action Summit, a gathering of the world leaders and global tech CEOs, where we will exchange views on a collaborative approach to AI technology for innovation and larger public good".
PM Modi further said that he would review progress on the 2047 Horizon Roadmap for India-France strategic partnership with his "friend" Macron to boost bilateral ties.
On Sunday, the French leader announced that his government would announce investments amounting to 109 billion euros ($112.5 billion) in AI for the coming years during the summit.
