Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday requested the people of Jharkhand to bring the BJP to power in the state to save "roti, beti and maati".
Addressing the Parivartan Maharally in Hazaribagh, he termed BJP's Parivartan Yatra not a simple campaign but rather a movement to assure safety of the state's future. He promised security for daughters, land, and livelihoods under a BJP-led government.
The BJP assured that the safety of these three would be taken care of if the government was formed here. A new dawn will descend in Jharkhand with today's Parivartan Sabha, he said".
He condemned the present Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government as a hurdle to the development of the state. "The same flock that has betrayed the very people who elected it in the name of protecting the state's natural resources is what is prevailing today: Congress-JMM-RJD," he said, holding them responsible for widespread corruption and disorganization.
Everyone knows here that the ruling coalition has allowed unchecked loot of water, forest and land. This government will be out of power only when Jharkhand progresses further. BJP's Parivartan Yatra is not just a political movement but a Sankalp Yatra to fulfill people's dreams, " Rahul Gandhi said while attacking the Soren government for siphoning off money meant for tribal welfare programmes.
Of course, PM Modi also slammed Jharkhand's Abua Awas Yojana and Maiya Samman Yojana, terming them as corrupt schemes meant to dupe people before elections. "People of Jharkhand need to be wary of those who peddle false narratives," he said.
Shooting arrows at the Congress, PM Modi accused the party of neglecting tribal communities even as it favored a single family for decades.
"Congress did not give importance to the tribal society which made big contributions in the freedom struggle. All the schemes were brought in the name of the members of a single family. Such family-oriented thinking has caused immense harm to the country. Today I am proud that our government has given full respect to the tribal heroes. We all lovingly call Lord Birsa Munda Dharti Aaba.". Today, in his name, the government has launched 'Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan', he said.
How could the state government fail to deliver on such tall promises made-like jobs and allowances for the youth and women, PM Modi wondered. He alleged that paper leak scandals have badly damaged the state's youth and exam papers are sold with protection from the government, enriching a few while ruining countless young lives.
He urged the people to shun the existing government and welcome the BJP's idea of bright and corruption-free future.
