PM Modi Affirms Development as a National Mission, Not Electoral Strategy

During an event held in the Sabarmati area of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that his government's endeavors in developmental projects are driven by a commitment to nation-building rather than electoral gains, as misconstrued by some. Inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for railway projects totaling Rs 85,000 crore, including the introduction of 10 new Vande Bharat trains, he reiterated this stance.

Highlighting the rapid pace of progress, he noted the inauguration and initiation of projects totaling Rs 11 lakh crore within just over two months of 2024. Reflecting on his personal connection to railways, Modi recalled his humble beginnings and underscored the dire condition of Indian railways in the past.

Explaining the decision to integrate the railway budget into the Union budget, Modi clarified that it aimed to streamline resources and facilitate the efficient allocation of funds for railway development.

Additionally, he mentioned the successful operation of 350 'Aastha' trains, facilitating pilgrimage to Ayodhya for around 4.5 lakh individuals, showcasing the government's commitment to enhancing connectivity and promoting religious tourism.
