Modi's government had launched the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' (Save daughters, educate daughters) flagship scheme in 2015 to address issues related to the child sex ratio and empower girls through various initiatives. National Girl Child Day is observed to raise awareness about the rights of girls and promote the significance of female education and health.
