Pawan Kalyan Calls for Legislation and Board to Safeguard Sanatana Dharma

The public meeting called up by the row over alleged adulteration of Tirumala Laddu demanded that secularism must be upheld in such a way that any threat or harm caused to any religion or faith is uniformly dealt with.

A legislation and a national board for the protection of Sanatana Dharma are the key demands in the Varahi declaration passed at a public meeting addressed by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.

The public meeting called up by the row over alleged adulteration of Tirumala Laddu demanded that secularism must be upheld in such a way that any threat or harm caused to any religion or faith is uniformly dealt with.

A strong national Act is necessary to protect Sanatana Dharma from those practices that create malice against the faith it upholds. It should be acted now and uniformly all over the country, says the declaration.

A Sanatana Dharma Protection Board should be established at the national level as well as in all states for enacting the National Sanatana Dharma Act. Annual means need to be provided to work this board.

The declaration stated that there should be non-cooperation with individuals or organizations that defame or spread hatred against Sanatana Dharma.

It also called for implementing Sanatana Dharma Certification for the purity of materials used for offerings and prasadam at temples.

"Temples should evolve not only as spiritual centers but also as centers for promoting art & culture, education, economy, environmental conservation and welfare with comprehensive planning," said the declaration.

Praishchita deeksha, said Pawan Kalyan in his speech in observance for adulteration of laddu, but people made mockery of him for it. Ridiculed that people made fun of him for speaking about the Tirumala temple desecration. The actor-politician slammed those criticizing him for speaking out on the desecration of Tirumala temple.

The Jana Sena leader, who ended his deeksha after worship at Tirumala temple, alleged that adulteration of ghee used for making laddu prasadam was a minor issue for the previous YSR Congress government.

He claimed the punishment meted out to YSRCP was for insulting the sanctity of the temple by reducing it to 11 seats in the state Assembly. He said YSRCP leadership did not mend their ways and that their tally would reduce further to one.
