The BJP led MP government that was struggling to counter high anti-incumbency after nearly two decades of its rule amid charges of corruption and poor governance, seems to have found an opportunity to corner the opposition Congress led by former chief minister Kamal Nath.

Responding to the statement of the Union Home Minister that Hindi was the uniting force of the country and that it was empowering regional languages, Udhayanidhi Stalin, in a post on social media platform ‘X’ said: "I strongly condemn the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah claiming that Hindi is the uniting force of India and it is empowering other languages."

In a post on X, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said: “The Prime Minister is back to doing what he does best -- insult. He repeated his abuse of INDIA parties as so-called Ghamandia parties. Look, who’s talking! The man who uses the occasion of a govt function to abuse the Opposition. Stooping to his level, one could easily say he heads the GA-NDA coalition—Gautam Adani’s NDA.”

Addressing a rally in Sagar district of poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi said, "They have already started attacking Sanatan Dharma openly which will gradually increase in the coming days. We, the followers of Sanatan Dharm, need to be careful."

The survey had a sample size of 3,350. During the course of a speech delivered last Saturday, the young DMK leader, who's the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, had compared Sanatan Dharma with a number of diseases and called for its eradication.

Going one step further, DMK leader A. Raja said on Thursday that Sanatan Dharma should be compared to diseases carrying social stigma such as HIV and leprosy. He even said that his party colleague Udhayanidhi Stalin's comments on Sanatan Dharma were "soft".

Meghwal referred to the remarks made by DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sanatan Dharma. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of Parivartan Yatra in Barmer, he said: "On one hand, the arrogant alliance (INDIA) talks about destroying Sanatan Dharma. I ask what Rahul and Sonia Gandhi have decided. Will you set up Mohabbat ki Dukaan like this?

In a statement, the Chief Minister said that Udhayanidhi Stalin had made some remarks about the "inhuman practices in Sanatan Dharma" which was earlier touched upon by great social reformers of the Indian subcontinent like Thanthai Periyar, Mahatma Gandhi, Sree Narayana Guru, Baba Saheb Ambedkar, Vallalar and Vaikuntar.
