Pappu Yadav Claims Threat from Lawrence Bishnoi, Requests Protection

Yadav claimed that over the last three days, an individual was making multiple calls to him, warning him against making statements against Bishnoi.

Lok Sabha MP from Bihar's Purnea Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav wrote a letter to the Union Home Minister on Monday stating that he has been receiving threatening calls from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for the past few days.

Yadav claimed that over the last three days, an individual was making multiple calls to him, warning him against making statements against Bishnoi.

The MP has also alleged that he has written to the Chief Minister of Bihar about the threats.

According to his letter, he says there were calls taken by one unknown person believed to belong to the gang of Lawrence Bishnoi along with one single call allegedly taken by the gang-ster Lawrence Bishnoi himself. Yadav has provided such evidence on these allegations too, be it seven recorded voice calls, four printed WhatsApp log screenshots along with pictures, and a particular press release by Mayank Singh stated to be related to Bishnoi's group.

He quoted, the caller told that after turning off the jammer for 10 minutes Lawrence Bishnoi called me, but I didn't receive the call.

"Is it such an easy job to get the jammer switched off? I considered you as my elder brother and what did you do?, the caller says in the audio which has been released by Pappu Yadav's office to the media.

In the press statement accredited to Mayank Singh, he addresses Pappu Yadav directly and asks him to "focus on doing politics" and not to make statements that he called "wrong against Lawrence Bishnoi".

"I want to tell Pappu Yadav clearly that you should focus on doing politics quietly by staying within your limits and do not get into the earning of TRP otherwise I will make you rest in peace," Mayank Singh's press statement mentions.

This development comes after Pappu Yadav's recent remarks against Lawrence Bishnoi on the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui.

He said the calls also took place when Yadav was staying in Mumbai. Pappu Yadav's office-bearer, who did not want to be quoted, said, "Initially, the caller heaves praise on Pappu Yadav in the audio recordings for having taken bold stances at the Lok Sabha, like challenging BJP MPs during the swearing-in ceremony. But he also praised Pappu Yadav for taking extensive social work in Bihar and Delhi.".

However, the tone of the caller changed to one of stern disapproval of Yadav's recent remarks against the Bishnoi.

Purnea MP Pappu Yadav on October 13 said if the laws allow him, he would destroy the network of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in 24 hours after the murder of NCP (Ajit Pawar) leader Baba Siddiqui in Mumbai.

Uploading a post on social networking site X, Pappu Yadav also did not miss the opportunity to criticize the law and order situation of the country, especially of Maharashtra.

"A country or army of eunuchs? A criminal sitting in jail is challenging the government and killing people and everyone is a silent spectator," said Pappu Yadav.

He said that Bishnoi was behind the murder of Punjabi Singer Sidhu Musewala and chief of Karni Sena, and now he was behind the murder of an industrialist cum politician Baba Siddiqui.

"If the law allows, I will destroy the entire network of this cheap criminal like Lawrence Bishnoi within 24 hours," Pappu Yadav said on October 13.

Pappu Yadav, the Rashtriya Janata Dal  MP, wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding an increase in his security after Lawrence Bishnoi made a threatening call against him.
Pappu Yadav has expressed concern over his safety. He described previous instances where he, along with his family members, have been attacked and threatened.

He claimed that in 2015, he was threatened by the Nepalese Maoist gang and caste-based gangs of Bihar, after which the Central government accorded him Y-plus category security. However, his security level was downgraded in 2019 and since then, he is being harassed on social media. People are allegedly issuing insults and threatening him with dire consequences on Facebook.

Yadav said he even filed a complaint with Bihar's Chief Minister, the Home Secretary, and Director General of Police, to which he claims no action has been taken.
He is of the opinion that by saying such things against Lawrence Bishnoi these days, he has fallen back into danger, so he has submitted all such documents in support of the complaint. Yadav lashed out at the Bihar and Central Home Ministries for not being responsive enough to his case, which he describes as passive response. "It seems that they will be active in offering condolences only after my murder, " Yadav writes in his letter.
