Haryana for starting SYL canal construction, Punjab says not even drop of water to share

SC imposes Rs 20K fine on plea to declare Satyendar Jain of 'unsound mind'

A bench of Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and A.S. Oka said the plea filed by a Delhi resident is frivolous and dismissed the petition with a fine of Rs 20,000. "It is such a misconceived and frivolous petition that it deserves to be dismissed with a cost of Rs 20,000," it said. Satyendar Jain has been in judicial custody in a money laundering case since May 30.
PM Narendra Modi to dedicate 75 digital banking units to nation on October 16

As part of the Union budget speech for 2022-23, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had announced the setting up of the 75 DBUs in 75 districts of the country to commemorate 75 years of Independence. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's family had sought the parole for him. "The decision of parole has be taken in accordance with the law," state Jails Minister Ranjit Singh told the media. During the parole, he will be staying on the Dera's premises in Rajasthan.
