Shashi Tharoor's poll agent writes to CEA, flags electoral malpractice

The letter, shot off a day after the polling for the party chief, surfaced on Wednesday, the day of counting of votes. It alleged that there were unofficial persons present at booths who even intimated their supporters specially in Lucknow in the presence of at least three AICC secretaries.
Violation of polling norms, alleges Tharoor camp

"We don't write love letters to central election authorities, don't want to get into the specifics as it's an internal matter and that would be inappropriate but we have been in constant touch with the party's Central Election Authority (CEA) to flag our concerns," he said on Wednesday. As per sources, Tharoor has complained about absence of a level playing field for the both candidates. The CEA had barred office-bearers from campaigning for any candidate.

"Tejashwi Yadav is on back foot after the Special CBI court takes strong note against his threat to CBI officials. He apologised to the court to get relief. Why was he not firm on his statement in court?" he said in a tweet. The CBI court held the allegations levelled on Tejashwi Yadav are not good enough for the cancellation of his bail, but told him to be careful in choosing his words while making public statements.
Centre ratifies delimitation report on Delhi wards; way cleared for MCD polls

According to the notification issued by Centre on Tuesday, a total of 250 wards have been chalked out for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), of which 42 wards will have to be reserved for Scheduled Castes. After the notification, now the State Election Commission (SEC) will decide about the poll schedule of the 250 wards.
