Rahul hoists Tricolour at Srinagar's Lal Chowk

BJY started Sunday morning after Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders left their night stay halt at Pantha Chowk on the outskirts of Srinagar city. Many enthusiastic locals came out to greet Rahul while elderly women hugged and blessed him. Many local politicians of other parties also marched with the Congress leader during his March to Lal Chowk.

Explaining further, he said, "The BJP has a problem with us going to 'their' religious places and seeking blessings from seers.
Odisha Health Minister shot at by police officer

The incident occurred near Gandhi Chhak of Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district on Sunday. The police officer opened fire at Das when he was on the way to attend an inaugural function. The critically injured Minister was admitted to a local hospital. He is likely to be airlifted to Bhubaneswar for further treatment.

The second test will be in the budget session of Parliament. Will the Congress be able to lead the charge of the Opposition, which has so much ammunition to fire at the government, or will they collectively flounder as a result of the disunity within them. The Congress has made a long list of issues to corner the government with -- from the Chinese presence on the LAC to inflation, rising national debt and unemployment, and the damaging Hidenburg report -- but on many of these issues, the other political parties are silent.

However, IPFT president Prem Kumar Reang and general secretary Prasanta Debbarma were absent at the media briefing during which the announcement was made. IPFT's two top leaders were also not available on the phone. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, accompanied by state BJP party president Rajib Bhattacharjee and former chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb, said that the BJP has allotted five seats to the IPFT against nine seats in the 2018 assembly polls.
