Parliament proceedings likely to witness disruptions over Adani issue for 2nd day
The opposition parties had stalled proceedings on Thursday over the issue and according to sources aware of developments, disruptions are likely to continue. Sources said that Congress and other major opportunity parties like the Trinamool Congress and DMK as well the Left parties are on the same page

Minister resigns over Supreme Court's verdict terming Sikkimese Nepalis as immigrants
Mani Kumar Sharma, who heads the Health and Information Technology departments, has addressed his resignation letter to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang. In his resignation letter, Sharma said in view of the Supreme Court's verdict on January 13 this year, "The State government has not taken the sentiments of the Sikkimese people seriously and I feel that it is not necessary to remain in the State Cabinet further."

259 candidates in the fray for Tripura Assembly polls
In the 2018 Assembly polls, 297 candidates, including 24 women, had fought the elections to the 60-member Tripura Assembly. On the last day of withdrawal of nominations on Thursday, 32 candidates from various parties withdrew their candidatures, Dinkarrao said. The CEO said that of the 259 candidates, the highest number of 55 candidates have been put up by the ruling BJP, followed by CPI-M (43).
Ashok Gehlot to present last Budget of his tenure on Feb 10
The state is expected to go to the polls by the end of 2023. Gehlot had earlier announced the presentation of the Budget on February 8. The date, however, was changed at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Legislative Assembly. Also, there would be holidays at the Legislative Assembly from February 3 to 9.
