Joshi as the Rajasthan BJP President, the party on Sunday named Rajendra Rathore as the Leader of Opposition, while Satish Poonia has been appointed as Rathore's deputy in the Assembly. While Joshi is a Brahmin, Rathore is a Rajput leader while Poonia hails from a Jaat background.

At 3,641, India sees slight dip in Covid cases
The active caseload in the country currently stands at 20,219, while the active cases are pegged at 0.05 per cent. The national recovery rate was recorded at 98.76 per cent, as per the ministry's data. As many as 1,800 recoveries in the last 24 hours took the total recoveries to 4,41,75,135.
While the daily positivity rate stood at 6.12 per cent, the Weekly Positivity Rate was 2.45 per cent. A total of 59,512 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.
Excise policy scam: Sisodia's judicial custody extended till April 17
CBI Judge M.K. Nagpal of the Rouse Avenue Courts ordered the AAP leader to be produced before the court on April 17.The central probe agency had sought the extension of Sisodia's custody as the investigation is at a crucial stage. On March 31, the court had dismissed former Deputy Chief Minister's bail plea. While denying him bail, Judge Nagpal had said that Sisodia can, prima facie, be held to be the "architect of the criminal conspiracy".
