In the last election, the BJP secured only one seat in the southern region of Chhattisgarh. However, this time they are projected to win four seats.

However, the party is expected to gain increase in vote share in the region. According to the survey, the Congress is projected to get 36 out of 64 Assembly seats in the region. The party had secured 43 seats in the last polls. The current projected range of seats estimated that  Congress will get are 34 to 38.

The poll’s results have put out an interesting finding with Lok Sabha elections just eight months away. The opinion poll, which was conducted between July 18 and August 19 in Chhattisgarh among 7,679 respondents, has found that 62 per cent respondents preferred Modi as the prime ministerial candidate, while 19.8 per cent of them preferred Rahul Gandhi for the post.
