Sources have said that it could be a handiwork of anti-social elements to create disturbance in the area. They probably pasted the posters on Sunday night. The Gopalganj administration, however, has now removed them.

Congress wants Sharad Pawar as joint opposition candidate for President
Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge met Sharad Pawar last Thursday, with a message from party chief Sonia Gandhi. The two leaders met in Mumbai. The Congress is in full support if Sharad Pawar throws his hat in the ring while Mamata Banerjee has called a meeting of the opposition parties on June 15. Bill to replace Guv with CM as state varsities' chancellor passed in Bengal assembly
However, on Monday, a bill pertaining only to the universities under the state education department was passed. In the coming days of the monsoon session of the West Bengal assembly, similar bills for replacement of the governor with the chief minister as chancellors for universities under other departments namely health, agricultural, animal husbandry and fishery will also be passed.
