RS polls: Rajasthan government seeks ACB support to prevent poaching of MLAs

Rajasthan government's chief whip and cabinet minister Dr Mahesh Joshi went to the ACB office on Sunday and gave a written complaint to DG-ACB B.L Soni requesting that a watch be kept on the people involved in horse-trading and if caught, strict action taken against under corruption.
BJP fields Kewal Singh Dhillon for Sangrur LS bypolls

In a statement BJP national General Secretary Arun Singh said, "The BJP Central Election Committee has approved one name for the Lok Sabha bypolls in Punjab." Dhillon was two-term MLA from on the Congress ticket. The bypoll was necessitated after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann resigned from his Lok Sabha membership. Mann won twice in 2014 and 2019 from Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency.

"Immovable properties worth Rs 4.81 crore belonging to different firms owned by Swati Jain, Sushila Jain, and Indu Jain were attached. Akinchan Developers Pvt Ltd, Indo Metal impex Pvt Ltd, Paryas Infosolutions Pvt Ltd, Mangalayatan Projects Pvt Ltd, JJ Ideal Estate Pvt Ltd were the firms against which actions were taken," an ED official said.
Kejriwal intended to buy PPE kits without tender in 2020: Assam CM

The Assam Chief Minister on Sunday tweeted: "Delhi CM suo moto offered to buy PPE kits from anywhere without tender. Why? Does his Deputy CM think the CM is corrupt as he asked someone to arrange PPE kits from somewhere immediately, and said that Delhi Govt will buy them ? No reference to any tender etc."
After suspension from BJP, Nupur Sharma issues apology

On Twitter Sharma wrote, "I have been attending TV debates for the past many days where our Mahadev was being insulted and disrespected continuously. It was mockingly being said that it is not Shivling but a fountain. The Shivling was also being ridiculed by comparing it to roadside signs and poles in Delhi."
BJP govt failed to give security to Kashmiri Pandits: CM Kejriwal

Odisha cabinet rejig: 21 Ministers take oath, 7 new faces inducted

For the first time, the swearing-in ceremony was organised at the Lok Seva Bhawan (state secretariat). Governor Ganeshi Lal administered the oaths of office and secrecy to the newly-inducted ministers in presence of Chief Minister Patnaik and senior BJD leaders. As many as 13 minister-designates have sworn in as cabinet minister while eight others took oath as minister of state (MoS). There were 20 members in the last council of ministers of Naveen.
Delhi bypoll a contest between local and outsider: BJP

The BJP started by pointing out that Bhatia, a former BJP state unit general secretary, is a local and has been doing public service for years as a worker and elected representative during his five year term as municipal councilor. The BJP said that the AAP has made Pathak, an imported leader its candidate from Rajinder Nagar who was earlier rejected by people of Karawal Nagar.
Having failed with Shias, BJP eyes OBC Muslims to make inroads into community

The Central Minority Commission is headed by a Sikh, while earlier a Muslim Ghairul Hasan Rizvi, another Shia, was at the helm. Now sources in the BJP say that though the Shias are a minority within a minority except in Lucknow and some other pockets, the BJP is not able to make inroads within the community. Political analyst Shakil Akhtar says, "It's not about Shia or Sunni, the BJP does not need Muslims as the party has upped the Hindutva plank which has given political benefits to the ruling party."
